What is DMoC?
DMOC, or Dark Mod of Camelot is a player designed graphics modification of the game Dark Age of Camelot. DMoC is broken into two parts. The DMoC application, and the DMoC plug-ins. The Application's purpose is to organize, copy, and reset the models and textures for the user. The Plug-ins are the actual new models and textures.

Is DMoC against Mythic's EULA?
YES. Using DMoC is against the strictest reading of the EULA. How ever, similar projects exist, with out Mythic's blessing, but Mythic has also not denounced them.

Can I use DMoC to Cheat?
NO! This is not a cheat, exploit, macro, or anything else that will make you more uber. In fact, if any mod I make here could be used in such a manor I beg that any users who find it EMAIL ME IMMEDIATELY at ThatRickGuy@Hotmail.com

What does the DMoC Application do?
The DMoC application is a gloriafied file copier. You can do everything this program does, with out it. But, the DMoC application allows you to select which existing models to over write with the new models, and automatically backs up any modified file and restores them when you are done playing so you don't have to download the same files over and over again from Mythic.

Does DMoC change the way other users see me?
No. DMoC only alters what you see. To everyone else you will look just as you always have.

Does DMoC allow me to make different skins for the same items?
No. You can change the way that a 2 handed sword looks, but all of the 2 handed swords that use that model will also change.

What if I want to uninstall DMoC?
The DMoC application is built with a standard windows install package. Which means it comes along with all of the uninstall information as well, and can be removed by clicking the the 'add/remove software' button in your control panel. The plug-ins of DMoC can be reset to the originals at any time you want by running the DMoC application and hitting 'reset models'. Also, if you do not do this, the next time you run DAoC, it will automatically down load and over write the moddified files

Will you make a ________ model?
Maybe, send me an email, a LINK to a picture would also be great so I have something to base the model off of.

Can I join the DMoC team?
Yes, I'm a busy guy, if someone wants to make this web site look nice, or submit new mods, or help me on other issue, I'd love the assistance. Shoot me an email.

Does DMoC Work on the Euro Servers?
Yes, DMoC only alters the client, which is the same wether you are in the US, Europe, or Asia. It will even work with any Emulated Server.

I tried to use DMoC, but it doesn't work, what's wrong?

  1. Start DMoC.
  2. Set the DMoC directory, the first time you run DMoC it will prompt you. You need to select the Camelot.Exe file in the folder that is the version you want to play. So if you are using the original client, you would most likely want to select "c:\program files\mythic\Dark Age Of Camelot\Camelot.exe" or where ever it is installed. If you wanted to use the SI or ToA client, you would have to select the exe file from those directories instead
  3. Set up the plug ins you want. Do this by selecting the plug in you want to use in game from the top list. Then select the objects you want that item to overwrite from the list on the right and hit the "<<" button.
  4. Start DAoC
  5. Allow DAoC To patch and get to the log on screen. Do not log in yet
  6. Switch to the DMoC application, hit the "GO" button. After a few seconds you should see a message box that says "Files copied"
  7. Switch to DAoC. Log in and play the game, the new plug ins should be visible.
  • Any time you want to change a model you have to log completely out and quit DAoC. All models and animations are loaded into memory when the game loads, so you can not alter them after the game has started. User interface changes (for the ToA users) can be changed at any time, but you will have to zone (enter/exit a dungeon/capital city/portal) to get the changes to show up in game.
  • Realize that if you do not select the correct item to be overwritten, you will not see the plug in. For example: there are MANY Axe models, If you want to overwrite the one your character has, you have to know for sure which model you character is holding. One way to do this is to overwrite any model that you think it might be, then remove them one at a time until you find your the file name of your model, but this takes quite a while as you have to log out completely each time you change a model.
